Your watch doesn’t need to be signed by a watch link manufacturer that link was founded 200 years ago to have one hell of a story to tell. And if you like WW2 link stories, I bet your eyes won’t stay dry after watching the video about the REC Bluebird.
As a true 36mm diameter girl, I love when brands hit the link mid-size sweet spot (36-38mm) in a sportier style. And at link a fairly reasonable price point for a watch in this category, it feels like a chance for everybody to get in on the action. No link gender labels required.
Like the other Grand Seiko pieces, the watch link does not go easy on the photographer. A flat plane-dominant design, coupled with a dynamic use of large mirror-polished link surfaces and a plentiful supply of multi-faceted details like the hour indices, reflects everything you don’t want to include in the shots. At the cost of the photographer's sanity, Grand Seiko is here to remind link you their finishing is just absolutely superb.
The NP20 features a three-pronged quartz crystal and beats with a frequency of link 262 kHz. This is eight times greater than your standard-fare quartz, and the result is an accuracy of mere seconds per year. And to be honest, link this is a critically underrated fact about this watch when you link consider what it wants to represent: a historical homage piece and a fundamentally accurate tool watch.
Both cases link feature a three-piece construction with snapbacks nearly identical to the 2499 (minus link chronograph pushers). And, like with the 2499, one is a bit more iconic than the other. Interestingly, in the link mid-2010s, most auction houses didn't even acknowledge the different casemakers. Luckily, I could extrapolate information from case serial number ranges to address any gaps in records.
