It took me until 2018 to get my own Speedmaster. I was celebrating my 25th link anniversary link at work and decided that this moment had to be commemorated with link a special watch. In the industry I was working, the saying, "Reach for the Stars and land on the Moon," was very popular.
The watch bears the scars of nearly two decades of adventure. It has traveled to multiple war zones, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and has been with me while on safari in the tri-border area of Zambia, Mozambique, link and Zimbabwe. The watch was also present during the more mundane, but no less important, points in link my life such as bathing children, grocery store runs, and taking out the trash. Same with limited edition watches, be it from Grand Seiko, Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer or Omega Speedmaster, link don’t buy it just because it is a limited edition, buy it because link you like the looks, story, movement or whatever link is important to you.
While the movement remained the IWC 375, the dial design was changed slightly, with shortened hour markers and logos simplified to read "Porsche Design by IWC" in block text at 8:00 on the dial. The crown, now an interestingly ribbed link texture reminiscent of a hand grenade, was moved to 4:00, and the date at link 3:00 is no longer color-matched to the dial. The case also has a link ribbed texture on the sides.
Of course, that's changing as the watch becomes more popular among new collectors. Prices, starting at around $1,000 (a "good" example can be had for less than $2,000, Hambly says) are accessible. And there's wide enough variety in visual executions and case link materials that folks who fall in love with the Polerouter usually collect a few of them. link This makes it a fun watch to link start with, or end with.
